MGO Cathedral Bhilai Unit (MGOCSM BHILAI) marked their presence in the 26th Annual Conference of MGOCSM & YM scheduled from 9th October to 11th October 2016, held at Christian College of Engineering and Technology, Bhilai, by representing the Bhilai diocese as a team constituting of 42 members.


On October 9, the day began with the Holy Qurbana. After that, the first session of ‘Nuharo-2016‘ was lead by Rev. Fr. Dr. Reji Mathew, explaining the importance of this year’s theme.
During the inauguration ceremony, Honourable Chief Guest, Mr. P. C. George, MLA of Kerala, lit the lamp along with the diocesan metropolitan, H.G. Dr. Joseph Mar Dionysius, followed by the Guest Speakers & Priests of Kolkata diocese. Day-1 constituted of a lot of inspirational thoughts shared by motivational personalities, and was concluded by a  ‘Talent Night‘ in which all the units participated, displaying their exceptional talents and entertaining performances through Dance, Skit, Song, Mime, etc.


After the morning prayer, Day-2 was initiated with a Meditation Session by H.G. Dr. Yuhanon Mar Thevodoros, Metropolitan Kottarakara (Punalur Diocese) and the consequent class was taken by Rev. Fr. Dr. Geevarghese K. His topic covered the major problems faced by the youths in today’s world. To discuss further on the same topic and to throw some light with their own views & opinions, all the delegates were divided into certain groups correlating with the current situations one has to face in this world. Subsequently, all the delegates had an interesting interaction and doubt clearing session with Our Metropolitan, H.G.Dr.Joseph Mar Dionysius. Following the interactive sessions, Annual Competition was held constituting of various categories like Quiz, Group song, Poster & Banner display participated by all the units. At night, there was a Gregorian Workship that created a magnificent atmosphere which triggered the Confession of all the delegates.


The last day of Nuharo began with the Holy Qurbana effectively attended by all the delegates who received Holy Communion. All the unit representatives presented their respective Unit reports which were later submitted to His Grace. The closing session was filled with suspense, where all the units were eagerly waiting for the evaluation results of the competitions held on the previous day. Finally, the prize distribution took place where it was declared that MGOCSM Bhilai proudly won 1st prize in Quiz Competition, 2nd prize in Group Song Competition & 2nd prize in Poster Competition. After evaluating the points scored by each unit, it was declared that Bhilai unit scored the highest in the Annual Competition. Hence, we proudly achieved the Rolling Trophy bearing the title for ‘Best Unit’, consequently for the 2nd time.
